I took the Dalton Review course before taking the November 2009 exam.  I can say, with out a doubt, that folks at the Dalton Review have the resources to help you pass this test.  I can go on for days about how great their instructors, materials and methodology were, but I rather express the way I felt after sitting for each session.  The Dalton Review made every question seem like fair game and left me confident in my answers.  After each section, I felt good about the work I did because I knew what the exam was asking of me.  If you do what they tell you, then you WILL pass this test, it's that simple.  However, keep in mind they are asking you to work hard and there is never a substitute for that. I took the live Washington D.C. review class in October in preparation for the November CFP exam.  I learned recently that I passed the exam and wanted to offer my appreciation for the excellent instruction and useful material covered in the course.  Not only was it helpful for test taking techniques, but I really learned the material.  Thanks again.  

I just wanted to let you know that if you ever have another student who consistently scores above their peer average on the study bank questions, attends all the online review classes, and yet is still convinced they failed the CFP board exam you are welcome to have them call me and I'll tell them they don't know what they are talking about.
I got my results this week and was pleasantly surprised to see I passed.  Thanks for all your help and the Dalton Review!

Just got my results yesterday.  I passed!!! 
The key for me passing was to really focus on the question bank.  I didn't pass the first time, and spent too much time on the pre-study materials.  But the question bank really prepares you for the type of questions that you can expect on the exam.  The first time I taking the test, I only did about half of the question bank because I ran out of study time.  This time I did all the questions at least once and about half of them I did twice. 
All said and done, it was a big relief to find out that I passed.  Thanks for your help.

I took the accelerated course starting in January of 2009 and then took the review course for the November 2009 exam.  I finished all of that by taking the November  2009 exam.  I just found out this week that I passed the exam and know that I could not have done it without the help of your staff!

As you already expected, I passed the test. If you need a reference sometime in the future, I would be glad to help. Also, the feedback that I have found from several friends who took other review classes, wasn’t very good. In fact, many short cuts that they were taught didn’t work. In fact, since they learned the short cut vs. the material, they thought they missed multiple questions!

Hi Joe,

Another "fact" / "Myth" you can add to your website is the fact that Zahn will not allow you to reschedule your course " FOR ANY REASON, NO EXCEPTIONS.  Anyone would agree to this when signing up for a course, but no one ever anticipates that a situation may arise that would preclude you from attending the course.  I, in fact, was supposed to attend the Zahn review in Atlanta from last Friday until this past Monday.  However, the previous week, I was hospitalized and found to have pulmonary embolisms.  Being put on blood thinning medication, my doctor wanted me "stabilized" before I went out of town.

Honestly, I thought that I would have the most difficult time with the airline, as this was a non changeable flight.  To my surprise, the airline was accommodating, and even waived the change fee, due to the medical condition.  The hotel was the same.  Then I talked with Zahn. To my surprise, they kept waiving the "no exceptions" in my face.  I wasn't even trying to cancel the class, I just wanted to calendar it forward to the next waive of courses, the March testing cycle.  I was amazed that they are unwilling to cooperate in that aspect AT ALL.  I even talked with Zahn himself.  "No Exceptions" he said, as he told me yet again, that it would cost me $450.00 to take the course at a later date.  Obviously, I am looking for a different provider.  I spotted your website and wanted to share my story.

I wanted to let you know that I have received my score report for the CFP Test and have passed.  Many thanks to you and your staff for all the help.

For what it is worth, I would like to think that I did everything your review course asked in terms of reading, attending the e-review sessions, watching the supplemental recordings, and scoring a 70 and above on the review tests through the online testbank.  Come test time I felt confident that I had prepared as much as possible and was at ease that I was ready for the exam.  I will say that when I left I was uneasy, but I now know that is only natural and part of the testing experience.

I received great news today that I passed the November 2008 exam! I could not have done so without the help of your team, specifically Jim and Kristi. They were wonderful, breaking down complex concepts into simple and logical components. If you recall, I attended the education component with one of your competitors. I was struggling with tax, retirement, and estate planning, and nothing in these areas made sense to me. The teachers were not helpful in assisting me with learning. I have a PhD in Finance and CFA.  Since I teach finance and also provide my services to a CFA review course provider, I assumed that passing the CFP Board exam should not be a big deal.  So, in 2007 I appeared for CFP Board exam with no preparation and realized how much I did not know.  That is when I registered for the Rice Program and Dalton Review.  I am glad that I did it.

I just opened up my CFP score report and got a nice big CONGRATULATIONS on the first page!!! I am so excited and relieved that I passed it.  I had a great deal of doubt after the exam but I guess that is normal after taking a huge exam.  I truly want to say thank you for the excellent coaching and instruction you gave me when I attended the Live Review in Atlanta.  I really don't think I would have passed it without your guidance.  Keep up the great work and the next time you're in the DC area, dinner will be on me!

As I wrote to you after taking the test in March, I felt reasonably confident that I passed; but, I was not at all certain.  Pass or fail, the Dalton program made a huge difference for me.  The pre-study materials, the on-line live (eReview) sessions, the recorded lectures, the test bank, the flash cards ... all were extremely good and were excellent preparation for the CFP exam. I felt there was nothing more Dalton could have done.
 
Received the official letter from the CFP Board today. Great news!  I passed on the first try.
 
When I signed up for the Dalton review, I felt confident in 2 of the 7 topic areas and felt OK about one other.  The remaining 4 were weak areas for me.  Following your program made a big difference.  I scored comfortably above the passing group in all 7 topic areas.

I got my results yesterday and was shocked and elated to see that I actually passed!  Right after the exam, I was so convinced that I was going to fail that I started to prep for a retake in July (after a couple of weeks break from the exam).  Not only did I pass, but I scored well above the average in most of the categories except for being deficient in Income Tax.
 
The reason I am writing to you is to let you know that the Dalton Review is the primary reason I passed the CFP exam.  While at the actual exam it seemed to me that all the questions looked quite new, the repetitive taking of the Dalton Test Bank (I was scoring mostly in the 90's by the final week ) must have left some useful knowledge in my subconscious to be able to get at the correct answer. The process of elimination technique really worked.  In retrospect, your concise study manuals, your all-day prep sessions (great suggestion, by the way, for us to take it twice - once in November and then in March), and the Test Bank make the Dalton Program the best of its kind in the market today.  I found the actual test really hard, especially the cases.  But there must be something to be said for the Dalton approach that I ended up passing such a hard test (and I am an MIT graduate). Great job - you have a great team there!

Just a  note of thanks for your review course.  I self-studied using TAC, then  ordered your review materials (without the instructor sessions).  I found  them well organized, concise, and accurate.  They were the perfect  capstone to the TAC curriculum.  And you are right - there are no  shortcuts.  I followed your testing and review routine to the letter.   I'm convinced the diligence you prescribed was as important as the study  materials.

The  result?  I passed the March 2009 exam.

I did not know if you receive the results from students that enrolled in your program or not.  I wanted to inform you that I did pass the CFP™ Exam!  Thank you for your program through DePaul University and Dalton-Education for the course work and review.  As I listened to other students during the exam, their comments confirmed what you had said all along – this is probably the best program to prepare a person for the CFP™ Exam!  I found it interesting to hear people say that they would have to repurchase all the review books as well as re-enroll in their program. Since not a whole lot changes besides a few laws and tax stuff, that did not make a whole lot of sense to me!
 
Thank you again for the fine program, your work, and all of the other teachers.  I found it very helpful!

Joe - I just wanted to update you on my results.  It looks like I won't be joining you for the July review since I passed this time around!  Thank you for all your guidance through this whole process.  I do feel like I was prepared despite the overwhelming anxiety before, during and even after the test.  Barring a few scattered questions, there were virtually no  surprises with the questions asked, but you warned us to expect them.  In the future, I will enthsiastically recommend Dalton to other exam candidates.   I would also stress the importance of taking the review twice (first online, then live) as I did starting in September for the November test and again in February.
